Sustainability

WE’RE TAKING AIR TO NEW HEIGHTS – BENEFITTING ATHLETES, OUR BUSINESS AND THE PLANET.

Already a global phenomenon, we’re pushing Air even further. We want to get lighter and stronger. We want to minimize our impact by using more recycled materials and provide better impact protection and propulsion. But above all, we want to use Air to deliver a more sustainable future for athletes. Learn more about Sustainability at Nike.

We reuse more than 90% of the waste from materials used for our Air soles to make new, innovative cushioning systems.

In 2017, Air MI diverted more than 51 million pounds of materials, the equivalent of nearly 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools, from landfills through recycling/reuse manufacturing processes.

By mid-2019, we expect all three of Nike’s Air MI facilities in North America will be using 100% renewable energy.

How our product is made matters, so we strive to make Air in the most sustainable way possible. See Nike’s Code of Conduct to learn more about how we are bringing about positive, systemic change throughout our supply chain.

We’re one of Nike’s boldest and oldest embodiments of Sustainable Innovation.

We’re the trailblazers of performance plastics, spanning industries to deliver cutting-edge products.

We fine-tune technology to deliver precision performance in Beaverton, Oregon and St. Charles, Missouri.
